Jason Hsu

Lead Pastor
jason [at] citylinechurch [dot] net

As Lead Pastor, Jason provides spiritual care for individuals within the church, and works with the Session (aka Elder Board) to provide spiritual oversight for the church as a whole. In addition to directing the ministries of word and sacrament (e.g. preaching, communion, etc.), Jason also supervises the staff of the church.

Prior to his call to City Line in 2011, Jason served for five years as an assistant pastor after interning at City Church Philadelphia.

Jason grew up in Houston, moved to Philadelphia for school, fell in love with the city, and never left. From that point on, he has worked in small business development, served in campus ministry with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, and graduated from Westminster Seminary. Jason and his wife, Kristen, were married in 2004, and totally delight in their three kids.

Tom Loyd

tomloydpt [at] gmail [dot] com

Tom was privileged to be a part of the City Line Church planting team, and became an Elder when the church was particularized in November 2008.  He oversees the Praise and Worship Ministry and has the heart of a worshipper, especially as one who loves to see the increase of the worship of our Lord.

Besides Christ, his strength comes from his wife of over 10 years, and his two young girls.  Outside of his role in the church, he serves as a Physical Therapist on the Main Line.  Tom originally hails from the great state of Michigan, but has called Philly “home” for the past 14 years.  He also enjoys sports, live music, fishing, and the brewing of finely crafted beer.  Cheers!

Richie Bollinger

Richie joined the City Line Session as an Elder in January of 2015.

Richie and his wife Katie moved to Philadelphia in 2009 in order for him to finish his training as a clinical psychologist. Richie currently works at a philanthropic foundation and maintains a small psychotherapy practice. Richie and Katie live in the northwest suburbs of Philly with their two young sons.

Richie enjoys running, eating, reading, watching 30 Rock, and spending time on his family's dairy farm in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

Scott Bryant

As Community Pastor in Upper Darby, Scott’s role is to serve and engage the diverse immigrant and next-generation community there in the name of Jesus.  This includes leading the Upper Darby Ministry , an outreach of the church to express the care and hope of God to the peoples He has brought nearby.  Scott is available to the community for counseling, prayer, spiritual discussion, Bible study, and help in general (215-565-5384).

Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Scott later lived in nearby Athens and then moved to metro Philadelphia in 2004.  He met his best friend Karen in 2005 and married her later that year.  They have a boy and a girl who keep them occupied and bring them a lot of joy.

He is the volunteer Manager of Multicultural United Soccer Club, a program for youth with families from over 30 nationalities playing together. Scott has enjoyed being a part of the City Line Church community since 2008, and was ordained as an Elder in 2015.

Edwin Ragwan

edwinragwan [at] gmail [dot] com

Whether in South Africa - his home country till the age of 15 - or here in Philadelphia, Edwin has always found church to be his home. It started even as a young boy when he learned the guitar to join his worship team, and he continues to be a part of the team here at City Line. Edwin became an Elder at City Line in January of 2015.

He is married to Jehnell – also a South African – and new cultural experiences and cuisine, soccer, novel scientific studies, and car mechanics are a range of things that interest him.  Jehnell recently bought him a record player and he is enjoying reviving 33 rpm vinyls from before his time. One of his favorite classes in college as a science major was "Foundations of Christian Spirituality" which instigated his passion for the spiritual disciplines. If you meet, ask him about his chicken bone story - how God had a bone to pick with him, literally!

True to his SoCal identity, Daniel enjoys good weather, tacos, In-n-Out, and the LA Lakers.

John Sherk

Youth Ministry Coordinator
john [at] citylinechurch [dot] net

In September of 2016, John began serving on church staff as the Youth Ministry Coordinator. He disciples our oldest children through youth-oriented lessons, helping them transition into the adult Sunday worship meeting, and encouraging them to serve the larger community.

After graduating from Cairn University in 2013, he served as a social worker for three years before joining the staff. A self-titled theology nerd, he is currently enrolled in the MDiv program at Westminster and hopes to serve Christ's Church for the remainder of his life.

As a Philadelphia native, John loves the city and its sports teams. He enjoys playing bass, listening to various musical styles, quoting Seinfeld, and serving his beloved wife.

Julie Kao

Church Administrator
julie [at] citylinechurch [dot] net

As the Church Administrator, Julie’s role is to support the pastor in taking care of the logistical and organizational aspects of the church.  She is excited to utilize the gifts and talents she has been blessed with to serve the people at City Line.

Julie moved to Philadelphia in 2009 after living in various cities – including New York City, Shanghai, and Seattle.  She lives in Northwest Philadelphia with her husband, Henry, and their two children.  She loves traveling, crafty art stuff, and being at home with her two loveable (albeit sometimes crazy) kids.

Karen Bryant

karen [at] citylinechurch [dot] net

Karen is a Philly native who has been a part of City Line Church since the winter of 2009. She took on the job of bookkeeper in the Spring of 2011. She and her husband, Scott, have a boy and a girl who keep them occupied and bring them a lot of joy. And they live in the community of Upper Darby.

She enjoys reading, Philly sports, and likes to think she still likes the outdoors (stuff like hiking and camping), but has not been able to 'get out there' as much with 2 small children to care for. She likes her coffee (a must-have since good sleep is a rarity!) and loves to sing, play piano as well as the occasional guitar.

Ingrid Yuen

Ingrid Yuen

treasurer [at] citylinechurch [dot] net

Ingrid hails from the neighboring state of Delaware and enjoys travel, photography, hiking, and camping in the outdoors.  After coming to Philadelphia for college, she worked in accounting until her first son, Joshua, was born.  Sensing God’s call for a change in their lives, Ingrid and her husband moved overseas to live in Shanghai, China in 2008.  Four years (and two more kids) later, they felt it was time to return home.

Ingrid, her husband, Tom, and their three high-energy boys, Joshua, Caleb and Daniel, have been attending City Line Church since 2012.  Ingrid feels blessed to be able to serve God with her accounting skills, in addition to her full-time job of raising her kids and attempting to model God’s love and faithfulness to them.
