what to expect on a typical sunday
When you first drive into Palmer Theological Seminary, be on the lookout for City Line Church signs to direct you to the Main Building where we meet. Our allotted parking spaces are located around the circular drive; in the South lot at the bottom of the hill; and in the more spacious West lot, which is located next to Palmer’s campus (ie. if you’re driving west on Lancaster Ave/Rte. 30, you have to drive past Palmer to see the West lot on your left). Please note that we try to reserve the parking spaces in the Central Lot beside the Chapel and in front of the Main Building (including the handicapped spots) for families with young children.
You can view the parking lot map here with our designated parking spaces highlighted: Palmer Seminary Parking Map 2011
Once you enter the Main Building, turn right at the foyer, take the first left into the Cafe area, and you will find us in the Dining Room on the right.
We invite you to come as you are! Dress code is whatever you feel most comfortable in – whether it’s casual or your “Sunday best”.
We desire to corporately encounter God during our time together on Sundays. There are different aspects to our time together, but they all help us to experience and worship God more. Here is our general order of worship. We hope you can stop by and join us.
• Adoration of God’s beauty through worship
• Confession of our own brokenness through times of prayer and meditation
• Being assured of God’s grace and forgiveness
• Extending peace to one another
• Gospel message
• Communion
• Response to God’s Word through prayer and songs
• Fellowship, encouragement and breaking bread together
nursery/kids’ ministry
Our nursery is available for children 8 months to under 2 years old. Our Kids’ Ministry program is currently broken up into 2 classes: a 2-3 year old class and a 4-6 year old class. Both our nursery and our Kids’ Ministry classes are held on the basement level of Palmer Seminary. Kids and their parents are called up for corporate prayer during the adult worship service, and then the teachers escort the 4-6 year olds downstairs to their classroom. Parents of children 3 and younger are asked to take their children down to their classrooms and sign them in before going back upstairs to re-join the adult service. The children will get to enjoy their own kids’ worship time after their Sunday School classroom instruction. Parents of younger children (3 and below) should return downstairs to pick up their children after the adult worship service ends. The older children (4 and up) will be brought back upstairs by their teacher to the Cafe area for fellowship.
